Quality Features
The quality of crushed stone from productive rocks from the Bratskoye Deposit was evaluated for compliance with the provisions of GOST 8267-93 Crushed Stone and Gravel from Solid Rocks for Construction Work. Technical Specifications.
The quality indicators of crushed stone were determined at the laboratories of the Geological Institute of Kola Research Center under the Russian Academy of Sciences and Petrozavodsk State University – Public Educational Institution of Higher Vocational Education. Tests were conducted separately for the following fractions: 5 – 10 mm, 10 – 20 mm, 20 – 40 mm and 40 – 70 mm.

Based on the results of laboratory studies, crushed stone from the Bratskoye deposit rocks has high physical and mechanical properties and meets all GOST 8267-93 provisions. It is suitable as an aggregate for concrete, as well as for road and other types of construction operations.

According to study results, the value of the effective specific activity (ESA) of natural radionuclides (radium-226, thorium-232, potassium-40) ranges from 197 to 362 Bq/kg, which means that deposit rocks can be classified as Class I construction materials that can be used in all types of construction operations without any restrictions.

• low flakiness index, not more than 20% – an important parameter for road and housing construction;
• low radioactivity, ≤ 370 Bq/kg, which corresponds to Class 1 as per GOST 8269.0-97 – suitable for all types of construction works, including housing, commercial and infrastructure facilities.

Product Composition
The crushing and screening complex can produce crushed granite of any fraction: from 2 to 200 mm. It was decided that the company would produce fractions of 5 – 20 mm, 2 – 5 mm, and 5 – 10 mm:

• crushed granite stone of 5-20 mm fraction totaling 4.28 million tons per year; target market – road and housing construction industry;
• crushed granite stone of 5-10 mm fraction totaling 0.59 million tons per year; target market – road and housing construction industry;
• crushed granite stone of 2-5 mm fraction totaling 0.83 million tons per year; target market – urban land improvement and deicing aggregate, production of fine-grained concrete and pavement slabs.
